Drew Jones Collection – Custom Menswear

Posted by Kelly Simants

At our last “Thursday Therapy” for Dallas Wedding Professionals, I met the talented Drew Jones of D. Jones Tailored Collection.  He is the owner and designer of this custom menswear business where he creates all custom suits, shirts and ties made from exquisite fabrics.  You might be surprised to find that his prices are super affordable (see his interview below) and a great investment if you’re looking for high-quality menswear.  Read on to learn more about the benefits that a groom or groomsmen would enjoy by purchasing custom menswear from D. Jones Collection…and you can also contact them to set up a complimentary consultation!

We recently had the chance to ask Drew a few questions about D. Jones Collection…

1. How did you get started in designing custom men’s wear?

I have always had an interest in fashion, but definitely didn’t plan on starting my own custom tailored menswear business. I was working in Beijing, China for the U.S. Embassy when I experienced my first custom tailored suit. After that, I was sold on custom tailored menswear and had a vision to bring custom tailored menswear to professionals for an affordable price.

2. What products and services do you offer to brides and grooms?

We have suits and tuxedos that range from $395 to $525 that are perfect for our grooms and their groomsmen. We also have custom shirts for $78 and ties for $38. For a little more of an investment the groom and groomsmen can keep their menswear for a lifetime. Being a newly wed myself, there are so many things to think about. This would be one less thing the bride and groom have to worry about: renting the tuxes, finding shirts and ties that match, finding vests that don’t look cheesy, and having to make sure all the guys get their measurements for their tux rental. We worry about all of that so the bride and groom don’t even have to think about it. We do offer group discounts for wedding parties.

3. What would you say makes your style unique from other tailors?

We have a young team, so we stay up to date with all the current trends and styles. Older tailors have a habit of recommending the same styles to younger guys as their older clients. We always match the style of menswear and fit to our customer’s personality to make sure they are completely satisfied.

4. What are some of your favorite suits you’ve designed?

That is a very difficult question to answer by typing without showing pictures. We have designed some very interesting tuxedos. It all depends on the style of our customer. If they are very trendy and want to make a statement, we have the perfect answer and will create something that people will be sure to notice.

5. Where does your inspiration come from when designing men’s wear?

I love the European styles and enjoy making menswear from our Italian fabrics. I have spoken to many Italian tailors that have inspired the specific details and construction of our menswear.

6. What are the latest fashion trends for men’s wear that you’re seeing?

2 button, double vent jacket, and flat front (no pleats) and no cuffs on the pants.

7. When you aren’t working, what are some of your favorite things to do?

On a weekly basis, I love just hanging out. There’s nothing better than being with good friends, hanging out (possibly with a few drinks), and talking. Seems like I don’t find time anymore, but enjoy playing tennis and basketball. I’m pretty laid back, nothing too crazy. I also love traveling. If I could travel to a different country every month, I would.

Thanks for sharing, Drew!
