Outdoor Wedding at Vintage Villas in Austin, TX

Posted by Kelly Simants

Earlier this summer, we had the privilege of coordinating Jill and Minh’s wedding at Vintage Villas in Austin, TX. Their sweet ceremony was held in the manicured garden below which has a breathtaking view overlooking Lake Travis. Jill and Minh are an adorable couple – they met at work, in a “Scrubs” like story…Jill is a Nurse and Minh is a Surgeon. :)  Needless to say, the two of them are beyond busy and needed some help to pull together their big day – so, we created a custom package for them where we provided Timeline Management, Event Design, and Vendor Selection in addition to “Month-Of” services.  The couple has a love for water and sailboats (Minh even proposed on a sailboat!) so we used a few nautical elements throughout the wedding.  Their day turned out so beautiful! We wish them all the best as they move to Baltimore next year for Minh’s Residency. Congrats you two!

John & Alison: A Wedding in Pike Place Market

Posted by Holly-Kate Foss

I could not be more thrilled about John and Alison's Wedding tomorrow! They are one of the sweetest couples that I have lucky to worked with. Helping them plan their wedding has been such a delight -

John and Alison live in Denver, Colorado and wanted to celebrate their new lives together with a fun "destination" wedding in Seattle. They have a few family members in the area and knew they wanted to celebrate their wedding here, with some local aspects involved.

I am also very excited to meet their kiddos; Madeline, Aiden, Audrey and Brooke - I have been helping John & Alison plan the details to their wedding for a few months but have not had the privilege of meeting the kids yet. They both have children from their previous marriage and are very excited to have their little ones involved in their wedding ceremony.

(aren't they so cute!)

We are very thrilled to be holding their wedding ceremony at the Inn at the Market. This will be the first outdoor wedding that will be taking place on their private Rooftop, just outside of two of the rooftops Suites. The ceremony will take place just above Pike Place Market and Elliot Bay. It will be absolutely splendid!

The Reception and Dinner will take place at the uber talented team at Campagne. The chef Philip Pichette has helped John & Alison to create a wonderful menu for their wedding guests.
Their colors are brown & copper with a few other colors as highlights. With a pretty small ceremony of close friends and family, I am sure it will be such a beautiful day.

The florals - are going to be FANTASTIC! Miya Ferguson, owner of Willow and Bloom (also Alison's sister), will be creating the most beautiful floral decor for the wedding day. I just cannot imagine what she has in mind for her sisters wedding.

I can't wait to see them all tomorrow - it will be an amazing day!

Here are a few other amazing Seattle Wedding Professionals who are helping John & Alison with their big day:

Reception Venue: Campagne
Officiant: Lyn Miletich

Eric & Carrie: A "Green" Wedding in Forks

Posted by Holly-Kate Foss

When I received Carrie's phone call about helping her coordinate her wedding, I was thrilled!  Can you imagine getting married in a rain forest with mossy apple trees, an amazing family cabin, and large grassy field as a blank slate for their wedding ceremony & reception? It was a weekend that I will never forget!

Carrie Niskanen & Eric Vogelzang decided to get married at Carrie's Family Cabin located on the Bogachiel River in Forks Washington. Carrie grew up going on vacations to the family cabin and had so many fun memories of the home. They knew this was the special and unique place in which they wanted to get married.

They both love fishing, being "green", and devouring Organic & local food. They wanted to incorporate all of their favorite things in their celebration. They used Bambu dinner & dessert plates, which are 100% bamboo and Certified Organic. These products are fabulous for so many reasons; they are a natural brown color and they biodegrade in about 4-6 months. The food HAD to be organic, delicious and memorable. So, they decided to work with In Seasoned Catering. Beth Johnson created an amazing menu for the celebration which was comprised of a northwest themed menu of fresh & local eats. Starting with smoked salmon, fruit and cheese. The menu for dinner was loaded with grilled salmon, rosemary flank steak, hearty greens and summer vegetables. I have never seen so many people go back for seconds!

What is it like getting married in a rain forest? It is beautiful, for one. The trees and weather were fantastic. During the set up of the wedding, there was a fog that surrounded us. Then by late afternoon, the sun was above us for a breathtaking ceremony. The guests arrived and were asked to follow a small path, that lead to the rivers edge. They sat on hay bails and had plenty of time to take in their surroundings. Then the wedding began…

All the guests were invited to enjoy Happy Hour under the apple trees. Guests were served local microbrew, wine and lavender infused vodka lemonade.

I really enjoyed working with Eric & Carrie, but most of all I loved getting to know their family and friends. They had a great celebration hidden in the forest of a little town called: Forks

Eric & Carrie, Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day!

(It must be said, for some of you Twlight fans out there, no we did not encounter any vampires...but we might have spotted a few werewolves in the woods.)

Destination Palm Springs!

In the past seven weeks, I have been in three states and four countries...Texas, North Carolina, Louisiana, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, and Cozumel! As if that weren't enough, I am now on my way to Palm Springs! Yes, I love to travel!! Some of this travel has been for personal vacation, and some travel has been for destination weddings. After I return from Palm Springs I will be sure to post pictures and stories from my previous travels. This upcoming trip is for a fabulous destination wedding for Courtney and Chris. They live in Carmel, California and found me because I also got married at the venue they are getting married at this weekend, the Miramonte Resort and Spa!

Laurel McConnell had written a blog article about me nearly a year ago, and Courtney had found it after she googled the Miramonte Resort to find any feedback she could while she was researching venues. In the blog article, I had mentioned that the Miramonte is my favorite venue of all time, so Courtney gave me a call and the rest is history!
