Valerie & Dan are getting married!

posted by Holly-Kate Foss

I have been looking forward to Dan & Valerie's Wedding for months and they are getting married today!

(Engagement photos taken by Cheryl Jones, of In a Frame Photography)

They met in college at Washington State University about 4 and 1/2 years ago. (Go Cougs!) They got engaged this last Christmas Eve and quickly started planning their wedding. They live downtown Seattle, in the Belltown area. Valerie is a product manager, she gets to work on so many great projects! Dan is a producer at KCTS.

(and their super cute pup, Lily)

When I met Valerie and her mother, Cindy, I knew instantly that I wanted to help with her wedding. They had so many great ideas, that I absolutely loved! They selected 415 Westlake for their Wedding Ceremony & Reception. Their colors are gray, yellow and orange - some of my favorite colors this year! They will be using vintage doors for their backdrop of their wedding ceremony. With birdcages used for programs, gifts & cards. There will be polaroid pictures hung on the wall with a guest book, comprised of antique typewriters. Their theme is also revolved around the beautiful font called "typewriter" font. We will be using letters as table markers...the creativity just keeps going and going. The wedding will be fantastic!

Mark & Laura are married!

Posted by Holly-Kate Foss

I met Laura this past December and knew I would love helping her plan her wedding! Laura & Mark were married just this past weekend -

Laura & Mark wanted to get married at Laura's childhood home in the Sand Point Neighborhood, with a beautiful view of the mountains and water. Their home was build in the early 1900's and is so beautiful, with so much charm! Their ceremony took place in their backyard with a little over 150 of their closest friends and family from all over the world.

They met back in 2001 in college, at Dartmouth. Mark and his family are from New Zealand and were excited to have their wedding take place in Seattle. He is such a nice guy, so easy going and excited about their wedding!

Mark and Laura currently live in San Francisco, but had made many trips back home to finalize all the details.

They decided to have their wedding reception at the Sand Point Country Club, where Laura and her family are members. It is such a great location for them, it is just down the road from their home. We worked with Amy Foster from SPCC, who was such a delight!

Mark & Laura's Wedding theme was classy meets elegant with some very shabby chic details. Their colors were slate gray and soft yellow. The bridesmaids dresses were soft yellow with the cutest yellow sashes. The men wore handsome gray suits, that looked stunning. The flowers were AMAZING! There were so many layers, details, and blended colors that made the reception hall look straight out of a fairy tale. Alexa Johnson, with Fiore Blossoms did such an wonderful job.

It was such a beautiful day, with so many well planned details! Congratulations Mark & Laura!

Here are some of the people that helped Mark & Laura with their big day:

Ceremony Venue: The Delaney Home
Reception Venue: Sand Point Country Club
All things Paper: Swash, Julie Cook
Rentals: AA Party Rentals (thank you!)

John & Alison: A Wedding in Pike Place Market

Posted by Holly-Kate Foss

I could not be more thrilled about John and Alison's Wedding tomorrow! They are one of the sweetest couples that I have lucky to worked with. Helping them plan their wedding has been such a delight -

John and Alison live in Denver, Colorado and wanted to celebrate their new lives together with a fun "destination" wedding in Seattle. They have a few family members in the area and knew they wanted to celebrate their wedding here, with some local aspects involved.

I am also very excited to meet their kiddos; Madeline, Aiden, Audrey and Brooke - I have been helping John & Alison plan the details to their wedding for a few months but have not had the privilege of meeting the kids yet. They both have children from their previous marriage and are very excited to have their little ones involved in their wedding ceremony.

(aren't they so cute!)

We are very thrilled to be holding their wedding ceremony at the Inn at the Market. This will be the first outdoor wedding that will be taking place on their private Rooftop, just outside of two of the rooftops Suites. The ceremony will take place just above Pike Place Market and Elliot Bay. It will be absolutely splendid!

The Reception and Dinner will take place at the uber talented team at Campagne. The chef Philip Pichette has helped John & Alison to create a wonderful menu for their wedding guests.
Their colors are brown & copper with a few other colors as highlights. With a pretty small ceremony of close friends and family, I am sure it will be such a beautiful day.

The florals - are going to be FANTASTIC! Miya Ferguson, owner of Willow and Bloom (also Alison's sister), will be creating the most beautiful floral decor for the wedding day. I just cannot imagine what she has in mind for her sisters wedding.

I can't wait to see them all tomorrow - it will be an amazing day!

Two Days until Paige & Ian's Wedding!

Posted by Holly-Kate Foss

In just two days Paige Fellows and Ian McLeod will be tying the knot in Arlington, Washington. They will be getting married at a family friend's private home on the Stillaguamish River. Their wedding ceremony will be taking place right by the river, with a piano playing under the trees.

All the guests will be invited to a wonderful cocktail hour around The Farm to enjoy appetizers by Ravishing Radish and handmade customized McLeod cocktails. An amazing dinner will be served under a tent, with twinkle lights and lots of lanterns. Followed by lots of dancing, cake, bonfires and late night snacks.

I am really getting excited for their big celebration! Paige knows exactly the style, colors, and theme that she is creating for their wedding day. When I first met with Paige and Ian last summer, they had already put together this great inspiration board to help tell me about their wedding colors, their relationship, and family.

Here are a few more Wedding Professionals that are helping to make Paige & Ian's Wedding Day AMAZING:
I am really looking forward to their Wedding this Saturday! Aren't they the cutest?

One more week until Jane & Tom tie the knot!

Posted by Holly-Kate Foss

Next week at this time, Jane and Tom will be married. I am so excited for their big day!
They will be getting married at University Presbyterian Church and having their reception at The Harbor Club in Seattle.

Jane & Tom met at University of Washington, at a mutual friends bachelor/bachelorette party in Whistler. Then two and a half years later they were on vacation with a few friends in Hawaii and Tom surprised Jane with a proposal on the beach in Oahu. Tom caught Jane completely off guard with his proposal, which I think is so romantic!

The Reception at The Harbor Club is going to be fantastic - they are planning on serving a delicious dinner to their guests. Here is a sneak peak of their menu for the big night:
  • Shrimp Salad in Phyllo with Lemon and Dill Aioli
  • Goat Cheese Mousse on Endive with Apricot and Chervil, Port Reduction
  • Classic Quiche Lorraine Tart with Bacon, Onion and Swiss
  • Classic House Greens with Harbor Club Vinaigrette
  • Grilled Wild Salmon with Apple Cider Buerre Blanc
  • Sliced Petite Loin of Beef with Tarragon-Peppercorn Jus
As for decor for the reception, Jane and Tom have kept things simple and elegant. The Harbor Club is such a beautiful venue and has the most amazing view! The bridesmaids will be wearing champagne colored dresses and the groomsmen will be wearing tuxes with matching champagne vests & ties.

Here are a few of the amazing vendors that will be helping them celebrate their big day!

Flowers - Olive East, Heidi Morris
Transportation - British Motor Coach
Dresses - Cicada
Makeup - Jenny Verador
Invitations - Stuhlbergs

Jane & Tom, I hope that you have a great and relaxing week! I have really enjoyed getting to know you and I am looking forward to your special day!

Four Months Until the Big Day for Sarah & Nathan!

Sarah and Nathan are tying the knot on July 26, 2008 – their ceremony will be at St. James Cathedral and reception to follow at the gorgeous Benaroya Hall. As we are quickly approaching their big day, I thought it would be fun to share a few of their plans, highlight their vendors, and showcase a few of their fabulous engagement pictures from none other than the incredible Laurel McConnell. These pictures were taken at Discovery Park during their "Getting to Know You Shoot". Fun fact about the couple - they have known each other for 18 years as they met in 1990 in their 1st grade classroom! Sarah just showed me their class picture and they are just too cute!

As we are in the final stages of the planning process, one of the last things that was on our to-do list was to sample the catering and to finalize their menu. We recently got together at Benaroya to taste the exquisite items prepared by one of Wolfgang's head chefs. Here are a few of the yummy things we sampled - some of the tastiest food in Seattle, if you ask me!

  • Dungeness Crab cakes with Herb Remoulade
  • Brandied Blue Cheese served in Belgium Endive Spears
  • Brie, Sun-dried Tomato and Spinach Turnovers
  • Wolfgang Puck’s Signature Mini Cheese burgers with caramelized onion and Gruyere Cheese
  • Mixed Greens with Shaved Parmesan and Balsamic Vinaigrette
  • Tomato Mozzarella Caprice with Basil Oil
  • Mushroom Filled Ravioli with grilled chicken breast and a sweet basil sauce
  • King Salmon with Herb Crust and Tomato Fondue
  • Roasted Stuffed Chicken Breast with Sun-dried tomatoes and Baby Spinach

As for the decor, Sarah envisions her wedding to be extremely elegant, romantic, and all with a bit of vintage flair. Since Benaroya Hall is nearly all glass, we needed to bring in design elements that would help to soften the room a bit. They decided on a lush, white fabric "chandelier" similar to the image below, which will be draped from the ceiling, embedded with twinkle lights, and the fabric will cascade downwards.

Here are a few of the amazing vendors that they have selected to be on their team!

Cake - Jen's Desserts
Photography - Laurel McConnell
Videography - Mind Castle Studios
Catering - Wolfgang Puck
Gown - The Bridal Garden
Flowers - Loves Me Flowers
Decor - The Prop Gallery West
Bridesmaids Dresses - Nicole Miller from Nordstrom
Band - Pimp du Jour
Transportation - British Motor Coach
Invitations - Carousel Stationery & Gifts

I can't wait for their wedding...more to come in July! :)
