We are so excited to announce the details to this year's Get Hitched, Give Hope Seattle's Premier bridal giving event!

Please mark your calendar for October 28th, 2010. We are excited to announce this years sponsor, The Four Seasons Hotel and new location for our event. Please stay tuned for more information on vendors, sponsors, and other great products involved.

Get Hitched, Give Hope or "GHGH" is a swanky fundraiser put together by Seattle's Top Wedding Vendors. GHGH is a non-profit organization that raises money to grant wishes for breast cancer patients through auctions of fabulous wedding goods and services. Get Gorgeous Goods while Giving Back!

Last year we raised $37k for The Making Memories Foundation. To date, we have raised over $67k for this great cause!

Sweet Pea Events is thrilled to be involved in another Get Hitched, Give Hope event. I am delighted and honored to serve at the President of GHGH for 2010. Getting married in 2010 and wanting to purchase items for your wedding AND give to a great cause? This Thursday evening you will have the opportunity to bid on these amazing hand-crafted Wedding Bands with DIAMONDS during our LIVE auction!

What is Get Hitched, Give Hope - you ask? It is essentially THIS: A big party for brides and grooms where they can get good deals on fantastic products & services for their wedding by donating to a great cause. The money raised at the cocktail party-slash-auction is used to grant final wishes for Stage 4 breast cancer patients. Can you think of a better way to spend your Thursday night? I can't!

We have LOTS of great items this year, covering everything from couture gowns to flowers to invites to coordination to photography... but one of our favorites... His and Hers Wedding Bands by local Queen Anne jeweler T. Anthony Sholdt!!

His: Tungsten wedding band with a palladium inlay.

Hers: Diamond eternity band set in palladium with 43 (count 'em! 43!) round brilliant cut diamonds (.22 carat total weight)

In less than two weeks, you can attend one of the greatest events of the year! Get Hitched, Give Hope!

Get Hitched, Give Hope is throwing a big, glamorous party for brides & grooms planning their 2010 or later wedding. In one night, they can shop for all their wedding necessities; score photography packages, invitations design, bridal accessories, wedding coordination services and more - all while feeling great, knowing that the money they spend is going to a fabulous cause. Last year, we raised $30,000 in a SINGLE NIGHT to grant wishes to terminally ill breast cancer patients. This year we're hoping to raise $50,000.

Get Hitched, Give Hope Raises Over $30,000!

26 vendors + 33 sponsors + 250 attendees = 309 givers! Thanks to each and every one of you who supported the first annual Get Hitched, Give Hope event on 10.23.08! What an incredible success the night was...with the support of so many vendors, sponsors, and guests, we were able to raise over $30,000 for the Making Memories Foundation! This means that so many women with stage IV breast cancer will have one of their wishes granted!

Announcing Seattle’s Premier Bridal Giving Event – “Get Hitched, Give Hope”

I am honored to announce some exciting news about an incredible bridal charity event that myself and 5 other fabulous wedding professionals are planning!

We've decided to throw a really big, swanky-cool party; the kind that gives you an excuse to buy new shoes. We'll have lovely libations and amazing appetizers. We'll have raffles, auctions, and jellybeans. LOTS of jellybeans!

Get Hitched, Give Hope, will be Seattle’s first bridal charity event of its kind, to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer while also while also giving brides fabulous resources to Seattle's top wedding vendors in a special evening. The charity we are sponsoring is the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation which has a wonderful mission to support breast cancer patients and their families through granting wishes and raising awareness of the disease.

Get Hitched, Give Hope has been formed by a group of passionate women in the Seattle wedding industry (myself, Laurel McConnell, Michelle Loretta, Michelle Engvall, Barbie Hull & Eliza Truitt). Here are all the details:

When: Thursday, October 23rd, 2008. Here is a sneak peak of the evening’s timeline:

• 5-6 pm Industry-Only Cocktail Hour: Fellow wedding industry professionals and members of the media are invited to join us early for an industry-only cocktail hour. Bring your checkbooks and your generous hearts for a special hour of networking, giving, and a preview of our fabulous venue with participating vendors!


• 6-9 pm Silent Auction, Raffles, and Bridal Exhibition: Brides, grooms, and guests are invited to sip cocktails, sample great food, take a look at the fabulous venue, bid on gorgeous goods through the silent auction, and meet our favorite vendors.
  
• 9-10 pm Closing Treats: Pick up the goods you've bid on, and stick around for another glass of wine and our final treats of the evening!

Why: It can take $4000 to grant one wish for a small family of 4, let's grant 12!! Our goal is to raise $50,000 to grant wishes for stage IV breast cancer patients and their families.
Through projects like Brides Against Breast Cancer, The Pink Envelope Project, and Kate Aspen Favors, The Making Memories Foundation creates the ability to grant personal wishes to patients in their last year. Proceeds from ticket sales, vendors’ donations, and of course all funds raised through the auction will benefit this incredible Foundation.

Where: We are incredibly excited to announce that our event will be held at the Arctic Club Hotel in downtown Seattle. As one of Seattle's newest venues, the unparalleled beauty of the historic Dome Room is the perfect setting for our debut event.
