Karissa & Matt’s Wedding at The W Hotel – Seattle

Posted by Kelly Simants

Holly-Kate and I had the honor of working with Karissa and Matt for their exquisite, modern wedding at The W Hotel in Seattle!  I met Karissa a few years ago when she was a bridesmaid in her brother and sister-in-law’s wedding and just adored her.  When she called to let me know she was engaged and planning her wedding and wanted our help, I was ecstatic!  We had so much fun planning with these two, and they definitely had a party to remember!

Special thanks to John & Joseph Photography for providing these incredible images!  Enjoy, and congratulations you two – we wish you all the best!

This first image is on the campus at University of Washington – my alma mater (Go Dawgs)!  Matt is a Husky from UW and Karissa is a Cougar from WSU so this proves that even big-time rivals can fall in love! :)

Loved their color palette of eggplant, plum, and silver…gorgeous bridesmaids bouquets too!

Specialty linens from Choice Linens – luxurious!

Their cake was a replica of Karissa’s Grandparents – her Grandfather was a successful baker in Seattle so this was incredibly meaningful to have this replica be in honor of her Grandfather.

Karissa surprised Matt with this AWESOME groom’s cake!  I think I have to say, this is my favorite groom’s cake I’ve seen yet! It’s a replica of his favorite University of Washington t-shirt. I think she scored major points here! :)

We’re Featured on Style Me Pretty!

Posted by Kelly Simants

I am beyond giddy to finally be able to feature this photo shoot that we helped to style, along with a team of incredible Dallas vendors!  For those of you who know me, you know that I LOVE collaborating with others…this whole project was truly a group effort and couldn’t have been successful without each individual’s amazing contributions!  Our whole goal was to showcase a mock wedding for Style Me Pretty, one of our favorite wedding sites – and we decided to call it “Style Me Pretty Meets the South”.  Holly-Kate and I are members of their Little Black Book and are honored that they chose this photo shoot to be featured on their cover page today! Here are a few photos to get you started…with more to come in the next few weeks!  Be sure to check out Style Me Pretty’s feature to check out their gallery of our images. Enjoy!

Carmen and Ryan Tie the Knot in Dallas!

Posted by Kelly Simants

During my initial consult with Carmen and Ryan, I knew right away they were going to be super fun clients!  They both have a great sense of humor and in my opinion, had absolutely the right attitude about their wedding…they wanted to make sure to have fun along the way, and especially on the wedding day!  To ensure they would be able to accomplish this, they hired us for “Month-Of Wedding Coordination” services.  They did the majority of the planning on their own and we pulled all of the details together towards the end to make sure everything was seamless!  Enjoy these images from Jennifer Yarbro…and thanks again to Carmen and Ryan to inviting us to be a part of their special day!

One more week until Jane & Tom tie the knot!

Posted by Holly-Kate Foss

Next week at this time, Jane and Tom will be married. I am so excited for their big day!
They will be getting married at University Presbyterian Church and having their reception at The Harbor Club in Seattle.

Jane & Tom met at University of Washington, at a mutual friends bachelor/bachelorette party in Whistler. Then two and a half years later they were on vacation with a few friends in Hawaii and Tom surprised Jane with a proposal on the beach in Oahu. Tom caught Jane completely off guard with his proposal, which I think is so romantic!

The Reception at The Harbor Club is going to be fantastic - they are planning on serving a delicious dinner to their guests. Here is a sneak peak of their menu for the big night:
  • Shrimp Salad in Phyllo with Lemon and Dill Aioli
  • Goat Cheese Mousse on Endive with Apricot and Chervil, Port Reduction
  • Classic Quiche Lorraine Tart with Bacon, Onion and Swiss
  • Classic House Greens with Harbor Club Vinaigrette
  • Grilled Wild Salmon with Apple Cider Buerre Blanc
  • Sliced Petite Loin of Beef with Tarragon-Peppercorn Jus
As for decor for the reception, Jane and Tom have kept things simple and elegant. The Harbor Club is such a beautiful venue and has the most amazing view! The bridesmaids will be wearing champagne colored dresses and the groomsmen will be wearing tuxes with matching champagne vests & ties.

Here are a few of the amazing vendors that will be helping them celebrate their big day!

Flowers - Olive East, Heidi Morris
Transportation - British Motor Coach
Dresses - Cicada
Makeup - Jenny Verador
Invitations - Stuhlbergs

Jane & Tom, I hope that you have a great and relaxing week! I have really enjoyed getting to know you and I am looking forward to your special day!

Thursday Therapy Recaps for April and May!

Posted by Kelly Simants

Every month in the Dallas area, we host a monthly Happy Hour for wedding professionals called “Thursday Therapy”.  This is a fun, casual networking group where we talk shop, collaborate, and get to know new colleagues and hang out with old friends.  It’s especially nice during the crazy busy wedding season we’re in so that it gives us all an excuse to see each other and continue networking at the same time!

We just held Thursday Therapy in May at Coast in Plano at The Shops at Legacy – Michelle Parks from Elle Parks Photography took these awesome images below for our group.  In April, we held Thursday Therapy at the aLoft Hotel in Dallas – Catie Ronquillo captured these super fun pics for us.  Thanks to both ladies for these great images!!

Also, if you’re in the Dallas area in the wedding industry, please know that you’re welcome to join us this next month at the House of Blues in Dallas on 6.17 – please contact me for more info!

Enjoy!
